Holdrege High School Welcomes New English/Journalism Teacher
Hello! My name is Hannah Steen, and I will have the privilege of working with the students and faculty of Holdrege High School this coming school year. I am excited to be teaching English 9 and Journalism/Yearbook, which are activities I will also be sponsoring. In addition, I will get to be a part of the Holdrege High School speech team, acting as an assistant coach. I have had the pleasure of teaching and coaching both in Nebraska and Montana over the past five years, but am thrilled to have the opportunity to return to a community I love and be a part of it in this way. While I am a native of Holdrege, my husband is from Montana, and I look forward to sharing with him all the things that make this community and this school district special. My husband and I look forward to raising our family in this community, spending time with our extended family, and reconnecting with old friends.
Prior to accepting this position, I taught English 9 and 10 at Glasgow High School in Glasgow, Montana and English 10 and 11 at Boone Central Schools in Albion, Nebraska. I also had the opportunity to act as an assistant and head coach for the Boone Central speech team, as well as a co-head coach for the Boone Central one act. I am a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney and of Holdrege High School. Teaching at Holdrege Public Schools is a homecoming and a full-circle moment for my career. There’s no place like home and there’s no place like Nebraska.
