7th Grade Sewing Students Deliver Walker Caddies to Residents of Christian Homes
by Darla Windholtz
Some of the 7th-grade Sewing students were finally able to deliver their Walker Caddies to Christian Homes on Feb. 27th. Students visited with the residents and then presented residents with walkers, a new sewn caddy. Each student learns basic sewing skills while making a Sewing Notebook. These skills are then used to sew the Walker Caddy out of recycled denim and scraps of cotton fabric and ribbon. Students sew denim panels together to make the backing and then choose the fabric they want for the background and pockets. Each Walker Caddy is very unique and sewn by the students. Residents were glad to get them and the students were so excited to meet the person that would receive their hand made caddy.
