HMS Drawing Skills Continue to Improve–Check Out Artsonia!
by Brandy Edgren
So far this year, middle school students have really been focused on improving their drawing skills in the art room. Sixth graders started out with learning to draw hands, while eighth graders practiced drawing live models. They couldn’t believe how much they had improved after only a week of practice. The sixth graders moved on to vanitas still lifes. These still life drawings have a secret message about the passage of time or death juxtaposed against regular everyday objects. You can see some of the examples here by Angela Dominguez, Jillian Bailey, and Jenna Samuelson.
However, if you want to see a lot more amazing artwork, you can look up our Artsonia page. This year in order to track student progress and share that progress with family and friends, we have begun to upload all of our artwork to Artsonis, an online student gallery. Please check it out. Go to artsonia.com and search for Holdrege Middle School. Enjoy!
