Holdrege Public Schools Transition to Orange

James Reed

Following the recommendation of our local health care experts, Holdrege Public Schools will be moving from our yellow risk level which is considered moderate to the orange risk level which is considered high.  Although there are quite a few changes associated with this there are two that need highlighted.  In the high risk range all students and staff will be required to wear face masks while at school.  It is recommended to always keep a second clean one available in a ziplock bag.  Masks from home are welcome but your son or daughter’s school will also be able to provide some for them.

Another key change in moving from yellow to orange is that we will no longer be able to operate our in town shuttle bus.  Even with masks on the bus, our typical in town shuttle bus route has far too many students to provide any type of social distancing.

We will continue to do everything we can to keep our school buildings safe and open for our students but there will be some inconveniences in order to do so.  We encourage you to read the details of the plan for reference and we thank you in advance for your understanding.
