Bob Drews

The boxes have reached Puerto Rico and have been picked up by Mr. Fuentes family!  It’s good to know that they supplies are in the hands of the people who truly need them!

Supplies from Holdrege being picked up in Puerto Rico.

Thanks again to all who donated!

The supplies collected at the Oct. 19 Holdrege HS /Aurora HS Volleyball games are headed to Puerto Rico.  Enough was collected to pack TWENTY-FOUR Priority Mail boxes that have now been sent to the sister of Holdrege resident Eric Fuentes, who provided the inspiration and contacts to make the project possible.

The boxes filled with flashlights, batteries, canned food, toothbrushes, latex gloves, bar soap, disposable razors, bungee cords, duct tape and so much more will be distributed by Mr. Fuentes sister on the island to local relief sites including churches and aid stations.  In addition to all of the supplies , over $400 in donations was collected at the school and elsewhere, including $200 from the HHS Spanish Club.

If anyone still has the desire to make donations or any kind, feel free to contact HHS Principal Robert Drews via email ( or by calling the HHS Office at 308-995-6558.  Thanks to all who helped to put this together for those in Puerto Rico!  The efforts are deeply appreciated!
